  • Parts Needed for CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks
Hey Bill! That happens sometimes so I'm glad you submitted it again. The CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks # CE48870 already comes with a winch and the bunk boards so you're set there. The only other thing you might want aside from guide-ons like # CE27620 is some straps like the Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps # 34414 to help keep the boat secure on the trailer. Where do you typically take your rowboat? That isn't something we come across very often.

  • How Far Away Will 40 PVC Guide-On Sit From Trailer
The most room you can get with the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27620 is right at 11" so you'll need the 60" long guide-on kit # CE27640 instead which is about 6" longer and will give you more then enough clearance. If the 60" PVC guide-ons are too tall for your application then you can always cut them so that they are shorter.

  • Can CE Smith Boat Guide Ons part # CE27620 Install on Trailer that is 5-1/4 inches Tall
Hey Bob, with the CE Smith Guide Ons part # CE27620 we have the longer U-bolt kit part # CE11416 which was designed for frames that are 5-1/4 inches tall like you have. They are actually 6 inches tall so you'd have the needed thread length.

  • Which Size Post-Style Guide-Ons Should Be Used On 2009 Century 2001 Boat Trailer
The best size guide on to get would be the one that works based on where you would attach them to your frame and the height of the boat. Ultimately that is up to you to decide. We have the # CE27620 which are 40" tall and also the 60" tall # CE27640. Both of these would attach to your trailer frame using the U-bolts and bracket. If you would rather attach the guide-ons with I-beam clamps then the # CE27648 is another option. It does not look like you would be able to fit these in the...

  • Fit of CE Smith Post Guide-Ons on a 1986 Champion Bass Boat Trailer
The guide posts will fit, as long as your frame members aren't wider than 3-3/4 inches wide and 4-1/4 inches tall. They are adjustable up to 13-inches from the outside edge of the trailer frame. (See picture to the right). The guide posts extend out of the water to provide a visual target when loading your boat onto the trailer. You will mount the posts on the top or below the trailer frame. I attached a installation link for you as well.

  • Will CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons Fit CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer
Yes, you can use the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27620 on your Multi Sport Trailer # CE48870. There won't be any clearance to attach them to the frame between the light and the fender, but they can be installed on the rear crossmember. See the attached picture.

  • Can Post Style Guide Ons Be Used on the Front of a Boat Trailer
Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers, like # CE27646 are designed to help you load your boat onto your trailer. Because the rear of the trailer is backed into the water, it makes it really hard to see if you're loading it straight onto the trailer. The top portion of the Guide-Ons that is above the water give you a visual reference, making it easier to line up your boat with your trailer. That being said, if you would like to add a second set to the front of your trailer, there is no...

  • Installing The CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons On A Boat Trailer Step
You could flip the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27620 mounting bracket upside down and just shoot some self-tapping screws through the diamond plate step, but this wouldn't provide as much strength for the posts in the event that you accidentally bump into them when loading/unloading the boat. The best way to really secure the posts would be to flip the bracket over and drill completely through the step and use the included U-bolts and nuts through the drilled out...

  • Lighted Guide On Recommendation for a Boat Trailer
We actually have a product that does exactly what you are looking to do. Check out the CE Smith Guide Ons part # CE27740. These are guide-ons that have LED lights on the tops of them for increased visibility. The PVC of this kit would be strong enough for it's intended purpose of helping guide a boat onto the trailer. As long as you aren't hitting them at too hard of angle you should be just fine. You would probably have bigger problems anyway if you were hitting these hard enough to break...

  • Recommended Pontoon Trailer Guides and Bunk Boards
On a pontoon trailer you can absolutely use roller guides on the sides like the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 21" Tall - 1 Pair # CE27610. The more common use for a pontoon trailer is the CE Smith Roller Style Guide-Ons for Pontoon Boat Trailers - 24" Long - 1 Pair # CE27672 which are designed for the inside of the pontoons to center the boat on the trailer and guide you onto the bunk boards. Good news! The CE Smith Guide-On Posts # CE27620 will fit your rails, as long as your frame members aren't wider than 3-3/4 inches wide and 4-1/4 inches tall. For your 1-1/4 x 2-1/2 inch frame you would just need to tighten down the u-bolts and use the appropriate bolt hole on the mount. I do have a solution for you but all of our CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons like part # CE27620 have a maximum distance of 13" from the inside of the post to the outside of the trailer frame (see photo). In order to obtain 24" the best option we can offer you would be to instead use the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-On part # CE27640. If you were to flip the steel post you could then obtain the 24" from the inside of the post to the outside of the trailer frame but you may need to make a few...

They sure do. They're available in several different lengths shorter than the 75 inch high # CE27636 guide-ons that you'd looked at. • Should the edges of CE smith post-style guide-ons for boat trailers be painted?
The edges of the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27620 should in fact be painted for superior protection. You can simply use a spray paint from a local hardware / paint store, or for the best protection you can start off with rust-preventive primer as you mentioned, then follow it up with a good coat of paint.

  • Can the CE Smith Post-Style Guide Ons Withstand Being Bumped Into By the Boat
The CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 40" Tall - White - 1 Pair # CE27620 are made from durable 1-1/2" diameter steel posts, and while they're not designed to hold weight they were crafted with the potential for this in mind. You won't have any issues with the boat bumping or pushing up against them while you load it on the trailer. I've linked a review video of these for you to check out, as well.

  • How to Install the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons on a Malone MicroSport Trailer
I have two options that will allow you to install the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers part # CE27620 on your Malone MicroSport Trailer part # MPG460G. The first option would be to install the guide posts in front of the wheels just before the a-frame of the trailer comes together. You can see this location in the attached photo. • Mounting Boat Trailer Guide-Ons to Triton Boat Trailer With Fender Step Extends to Rear of Trailer
It sounds like you'll need to do some fab work in order to get the guide-ons to work. I believe your best bet would be to eliminate the u-bolts and have the brackets welded to the top or the underside of the frame member. If the fender step doesn't extend more than 13 inches from the side of the frame member, you can mount to the underside of the frame and the upright portion of the guide-on will clear the step. Otherwise, you'd need to attach to the top of the frame member.

  • Can Bunk Rollers Act As Guide-Ons on a Boat Trailer
The # DL21754 Bunk Rollers you mentioned are designed to be mounted onto the narrow end of a 2 x 4 bunk board. If your bunks are turned so that the side of the bunk is in contact with the boat's hull, use the # DL21741 rollers, which would bolt directly to the long side of a 2 x 4 trailer bunk. I used roller bunks on my PWC trailer, and they work incredibly well. Just make sure that you use enough bunk roller units to cover the weight of your boat. For instance, the # DL21754 you referred...

  • Will Malone Safety Pole for Trailers Help With Boat Trailer Visibility
For added visibility for a boat trailer, yes it would be a really smart idea to use the Malone Safety Pole for Trailers # MPG488. If you don't have enough room for clamp-on guide-ons, the # MPG488 would be the best alternative, and you can attach it to any type of mounting hole if the clamp isn't large enough for the area on your trailer you want it to fit.
